My ultimate inspiration passed away over the weekend and Iím justÖ baw. It really sucks to say the least. Budd Hopkins was an amazing person who helped seriously traumatized people get they help they needed. He was also one of the first to push for PTSD testing and therapy for people claiming alien abductions.

I started writing TH when I was around 13 years old but put it away because Greys scared the pants off of me. In college, I was walking through a used bookstore and saw one peering up at me from the spine of a seriously worn out book, Intruders: The Incredible Visitations at Copley Woods. I chewed through it in a few days and remembered this dorky idea for a comic I had. Using Buddís books as a model, I rewrote TH and itís basically what youíre reading today. Hell, I even named Roger after the book and heís drinking a can of Budd Beer on page 17.

I got to meet Budd about a year ago, we talked a little but I didnít say anything about TH. Some of you guys know Iím pretty scared of what the UFO community would think about TH since Iím romanticizing the topic quite a bit. Iím kind of sad I never brought it up but ehÖ What are you going to do?

I know this comment is really late to the party, but Greys scared me silly too. It wasn't until I saw Thor and the other Asgard on Stargate SG-1 that I got over it, because Thor was just too cool a guy to be scared of. :)

Well in life about 1/4 of people will disaproove what you do, another 1/4 will approve and unfortunatly (or fortunately for some) the other half wont care.

What i mean to say, Do it for yourself and you will find people that actually enjoys it.

Also if that help you, it not the first time i heard about "nice gray" and "alien romanticizing" is more common that you think (think stargate, startrek / starwar, Avatar and so on so on...)

It sucks to lose a hero, he will be missed.

Never noticed that about Roger's name before, that's very clever.

well, you at least did your research, so when confronting the community, I feel they would appreciate that.

Also, I'm very sorry to here about the loss of such a wonderful man. It's never easy to lose someone you admire.

He was one of my favorites as well. Being in the paranormal community many years even before I started reading your comic I have an extensive collection of ufology books and Budd sits as one my all time favorite writers/investigators :3 (I also have a collection of his interviews in audio from a friend, to have such a intelligent and passionate man pass is so sad) I hope he rests in peace T__T

I hope you feel better Emy <3

I just found out a few days ago.

People are always going to find something to object about anything- and I have YET to receive any short or long term positive experience with anything resembling a/the UFO community to be sadly honest.

What I like about TH- and why I think it is a good thing TH exists is that yes, it is a Scifi/UFO romance but you do not twist or change fact for the sake of fiction. Your fiction is based on fact and those facts can be looked up and expanded upon. This is a good- if not one of the best- ways to spread information that either would not have been found or not as accessible.

I also appreciate that you took the time to write out TH more or less and are sticking with your guns on how things will be and why. There is a clear separation of TH and TH fluff/crack-fluff.

What got me sucked in, to be honest, were little things that I picked up on with the way the Greys and the Reptoids interacted with their environments that had me go "holy shit, this person knows her stuff!"

You do good works. I'm glad there have been people like Budd and Turner in the world to inspire and guide others.

It's only natural to be majorly bummed and maybe even depressed for a while. Take all the time you need for mourning.

This is a beautiful tribute.

It's hard when someone you admire passes way, even though you didn't know them very well. I admire the fact you've payed your respects with this gift. I loved reading about a man you didn't even know helped you so much. Well, may he rest in peace. I hope you feel better soon to Emy.
