She looks so tired and listless...
It almost looks like she'd be saying something to the effect of "Are you done yet?" in a really broken, sad way.

Well, the brain itself cannot feel pain, it can be told the body is in pain, but the brain itself doesn't transmits pain to itself about itself.
This is why a lobotomy can be done fairly quick (I think there was a doctor who could get it done under 30seconds) without any anaesthetic.
Then again, but the time the job is done, I'm doubting you could sense or at the least display anything other than dribbling.
